How prayers are being answered

It all began at Crossway
Church planting is part of the DNA of our sending church, Crossway Bible Church. Since she was planted in 2014, she has been involved in the strengthening and planting of churches from Austin, New Braunfels, and Houston, to Cap Rouge, Haiti and Dublin, Ireland. Planting more churches in San Antonio was a prayer-full passion waiting for an opportunity.

When Danalinn and I moved to San Antonio in 2019, we were in critical need of a life-giving, Bible-preaching, disciple-making church family. We found it in Crossway! When we were ready to take the next step after four years in this church family, we realized that we were just stepping into the story that God had already been writing on the West/Northwest side of our city. Some of Providence Church’s core group members helped plant Crossway ten years ago and have been praying and waiting on God to plant a church that they don’t have to drive an hour to get to!

Our Strategic Plan
We have been equipped by some of the best church planting coaches whom God has used to catalyze hundreds of church plants around the world. We’re following their lead!
Vision Meetings

Our guests hear about the story of Providence Church firsthand at a Vision Meeting. Our Core Group puts these on in homes every couple of weeks in this season, and it’s the “front door” to be invited into the Core Group.

Core Group

The Core Group is made up of those who have committed to Providence Church. We pray for and disciple each other, care for one another, and meet regularly to sing, pray, and prepare for launch in the Fall.

Equipping

Between now and the time we launch in the Fall, we are growing together as a spiritual family and being equipped for the roles and responsibilities we will need to conduct public worship services. Many of us are and will be picking up roles we’ve never done before, so we’re prayerfully trusting that God will give us what we need as we need it!

Launch

We plan to begin holding public worship services in the Fall. Our location is still to be determined, but we believe God has a place and a launch date for us to realize later this year!
